33 Days and Counting!

That's right...we are almost in the home stretch. We are down to less than 5 weeks from when I am scheduled to deliver. And, oh what a difference a year can make! One year ago today, I was rushed into emergency surgery for an ectopic pregnancy. I was bleeding internally and my Dr. had to remove my left fallopian tube! It was quite a day filled with fear, anxiety, sadness and an out pouring of great love by those around us. Needless to say, we just feel so blessed to be where we are today. Praise God for his magnificent gift and miracles!

Now for an update of the past month. Since it has been a while since I have made a post I will try to keep it short and sweet...maybe a picture update of what has been happening since I last posted.

In June, my wonderful college roommates, Stephenie and Olivia, and sister-in-law, Tish, threw me a beautiful shower in Abilene. I will have to add pictures from the day later...I can't seem to locate them at this time:( Liv, Steph and I stayed in a hotel and enjoyed a girls night...so fun! Can't wait to do it again soon.

We enjoyed having Chad, Ashley, Abbey and Cole stay with us for a few nights a couple of weeks ago. On Thursday, the girls went to American girl. We took a tour, Abbey got an doll and we enjoyed lunch in the Bistro.

On July 10 my wonderful girlfriends threw us a beautiful shower her in Dallas. We were blessed to receive so many wonderful gifts. BB is going to be so spoiled!

Thanks ladies for a fun and adorable shower!

Family picture around the oh so fun table! The cake was just beautiful...thanks Angie! You are amazing.

No event would be complete without a little comic relief from my husband! Chris wrapped these t-shirts up and gave them to me from BB. Very funny and a huge hit!

We have started seeing the doctor each week. We are so excited and happy to say that everything so far is going really well. Due to my blood clotting issue they do a test each week that is basically a "stress test" on the baby. I am hooked up to a heart monitor and each time BB kicks I have to press a button. The heart rate should raise just like your heart rate would if you ran down the hall.

All hooked and counting those kicks!

Our sweet little bundle of joy appears to have quite an attitude and is fairly stubborn...not sure where that trait comes from. But, once again, BB was not very cooperative during the sonograms.

June 2 - This picture is not too bad...cute little face!

June 16 - BB never showed his or her face. But, we did get this incredible picture of the hair. Isn't that amazing? The Dr. jokingly said we may want to have a hair dresser on hand for right after the delivery. Good thing my mom plans to be there! So, I guess we will have to a wait and see just how much hair BB has.

And, last but not least, last Sunday we had maternity pictures taken. We were so pleased with how the couple we have seen turned out and can't wait to see the rest in a couple of weeks. Here's a preview. She will also take BB's newborn pics in a few weeks.

33 Weeks!

And, don't forget...there is just a few weeks left to enter your vote in the gender poll! Will our house be filled with cars and trucks, or ribbons and bows?

BaBy UpDaTe!!

What a busy month June has already been.

As most of you know, I have resigned from teaching and very much look forward to staying home with Baby Baker:) However, leaving my HMS family was much harder than I ever anticipated. For the past 6 years they have played such an important part in my life and I have many wonderful memories that I take with me! I had the awesome opportunity of learning from the best and couldn't have asked for better mentors to guide me as I embarked on my teaching adventure back in 2004. So, when I moved out of my classroom June 4th and 5th it was quite a bit more emotional than I thought. Saying goodbye was much more difficult than I had ever imagined. But now, I am so looking forward to what is ahead and can't wait the arrival of little BB!

But first, Mom and my good friend Stephenie helped me move out of my classroom. In true mom style she had to capture the whole thing. So, here's a pic from the day:

Please excuse the BRIGHT orange shirt...it's one of the few I have left that still fits!!

Once we got me all moved out it was time to focus on BB's room! Mom and I spent the week sewing and have just a few things left to do. Here is a sneak peak of the nursery and our adventures as we attempted to pull it all together.

All the fabric...

Mom and I sewing away, even late at night...

And, it is beginning to take form...

So far, so cute! Can't wait to see if all pulled together:)

Lastly, since Chris was unable to make the sonogram appointment last week Mom got to see Little BB with me! Unfortunately, we didn't get any great pictures this time as my stubborn child, can't imagine where s/he gets that from, wouldn't move to allow their face to be seen. So, this is what you get...fortunately, we will have our next one in a little over 2 weeks and hopefully BB will be a little more cooperative!

But, BB is doing really well and growing perfectly! I am currently scheduled to deliver around August 26, but I wouldn't be surprised if they move up the date a little if BB keeps growing at the current rate. We will have to wait and see! In the mean time, I am enjoying every moment of being pregnant and just know it is such a blessing and miracle!

Where Did May Go?

Wow! Can't believe I haven't updated since April...time really flies when your having fun.

So, here are a few updates from the past month and a half...

  • End of April we went away to Possum Kingdom to enjoy a weekend away and celebrate Chris' 30th birthday.
  • In May, we had our friends and family over to officially celebrate Chris' birthday....welcome to the club, Honey!
  • On May11, my students threw me a fabulous shower...so cute! Later, another class also put together a small shower.
  • The weekend of May 15 we traveled to Houston to attend our nephew Cole's 4th birthday...what fun we had...coolest party ever!
  • On May 26, the teachers I worked with threw me a fabulous baby shower! We were so blessed to receive so many wonderful things...Baby Baker is going to be spoiled!!!

Here are a few pics to sum up the month -

Heading out to dinner, but first a picture from our balcony at Possum Kingdom...it was a beautiful weekend!

Cole's Dinosaur Party at the museum...very cool! And, he was so very brave to hold the snake.

I think this burp cloth pretty much sums it up!

Thanks Ladies and all my other HMS friends!

New Sono Pictures

Last Friday, April 23 we headed to the specialist for another sonogram. While Little Baby Baker wasn't very cooperative, we did enjoy seeing how much s/he had grown! Apparently, s/he is most comfortable with the legs above the head...pretty much the position held for the entire sonogram. Anyway, all appears to be well and baby is growing great...in fact a little big and ahead of schedule. Baby is measuring in the 83rd percentile and has a great big tummy! Too cute.

Look at those feet above the head! Wish I had that kind of flexibility.

Love those cute little lips and nose!

Long Awaited Belly Pics...20 Weeks!!

Here you have it...the first belly pics. I am 20 weeks today!!! Can't believe we have made it half way! And, then I realize we have so much to do between now and the end of August. Oh, how time flies.
While we have had multiple opportunities to find out, we have decided to let the gender be a surprise. I absolutely love surprises and love the anticipation that comes with this wait. So, I want to hear from you...What do you think Little Baby Baker is? A boy or a girl? Cast you vote in the gender poll.

Girls Trip!!

So, apparently I am not very good at keeping this thing up to date...I have got to start doing better. Let's start with March... over spring break my Mom, Tish (SIL) and I took a girls trip to Fredericksburg...What fun we had shopping, eating and hiking up Enchanted Rock! Here's a couple of pictures from our adventures.

A little dinner after a long day of shopping!

aNd BaBy MaKeS tHrEe!!

We are very proud and excited to announce that a little one is on the way! YAY!!

Isn't our baby just adorable? Already showing a little drama!!

I am currently just over 14 weeks along and we just couldn't wait any longer to share our exciting news! This little baby is an answer to many prayers and we continually thank God for this amazing blessing...one we do not take for granted.

So, stay tuned because I am sure there will be many more stories and pictures to come. Oh, and the current due date is September 2, 2010.
